Good point: The interior of Route 12 gives the feeling of being in the Wild West with its painted walls and souvenirs. A friendly place for a cup of Joe for the road.

Bad Point: The coffee isn’t strong enough. As for the guestrooms, there are too few. Route 12 is more suitable for a pit-stop rather than an overnight stay.

Summary: Surrounded by Kao Kho’s serene natural scenery, Route 12 is the place that worth stopping by after a long drive; how about a nice cup of espresso, taking photographs, and an overnight stay in retro environment sounds to you?

ROUTE 12 – Packer’s pit stop

The winding roads of Route 12 will make any traveler tired and sore from long hours in the car. Near road marker 95 on Ton Son road (Pine Road) is a neat little coffee shop called Route 12.

The coffee shop has a western décor; kind of like a diner in a petrol station in the middle of nowhere like many American films. As soon as you step in, you’ll be sure to hear the country music playing in the background.

From the front, the shop seems like it has only one floor. In fact, the shop has more than one floor. The shop makes use of the mountain landscape to make a step-like building. Inside you will find a restaurant, a souvenir shop, scenic spots, and a few guestrooms for travelers who want to rest for the night. There is also parking space available for caravan and camping car travelers.

Once you’ve ordered your cup of joe, go find a seat and take a rest, or have a blast taking pictures at the many scenic areas. This place is a great place to stop at during road trips. I’ll have to drop by if I come though here again.
