    Suphattra Land:Orchard and Garden

Suphattra Land: Orchard and Garden is a very popular destination in ‘Rayong’. Here, you will get to learn about agriculture in general and in Thailand. Furthermore, the orchard is open for visitors to pick and eat their favorite fruits. Suphattra Land covers an area of 800 Rais (320 acres) divided into two sections. Visitors will have to get onto cable cars to view the orchard and garden. Don’t worry; there are drop zones for you to get on and off. Aside from the chauffeur of the cable car, a guide is present to give you information and explain details about the orchard and agriculture.

The orchard has 3-4 main drop zones. During May to June, an additional drop zone is available because the rambutans are ripening. The rambutan plantation is the first drop zone for visitors to pick and eat fruits from the orchard. Also within the vicinity is a local species of rambutan that has a yellow shell rather than a red one. The orchard only has one remaining tree of this species. Rambutans aside, you can also pick out mangosteens, langsats, and salaccas.

The second drop zone is a favorite drop zone because of the fruits buffet. The staffs are available to serve and peel fruits for you to taste such as the odorous yellow flesh of the Monthong Durian, the sweet-scented jackfruit, and many many more.

Once you’ve had your fruity snack, get back on the cable car to head to the third drop zone. Along the way, you will get to see the rubber plantation and the hydroponics house. Visitors will learn more about the making of rubber; a process that begins with the sap of the rubber tress. The guide will demonstrate how to use the tools to cut and effectively collect sap from trees. Visitors are welcome to try cutting the trees themselves, but please be careful, the tools are sharp! At the hydroponics house, visitors will learn about how to grow plants in nothing but water. Inside, plants hang and grow from rails supplied with water. The plants and vegetables in here look fresh, and are free from pesticides and other chemicals.

The third drop zone is a vineyard bearing green and purple grapes. We recommend that you not pick or eat the grapes straight from the tree. Grapes are delicate fruits and can rot easily if one grape from the bunch is spoiled. Please beware of the sticky substance near the cement poles; it is to prevent ants and other creepy crawlies from getting to the grapes.

The final drop zone is the bee farm. Learn about how honey is made, real vs. fake honey, and get a close encounter with these busy-buzzing bugs. Please do not touch the bees without permission or protective gear; a startled bee (and its friends) will sting you. The bees in the farm are the one who pollinate the trees and plants of the orchard and garden.

Suphattra Land has won the Thai Tourism Award twice already. The orchard and garden goes out of its way to engage, entertain, educate, and interact with visitors. Fresh fruits and vegetables are abundant for you to pick and eat on the spot. This tourist attraction is your chance to learn more about agriculture in Thailand, and fruits grown in Thailand. If you happen to be in Rayong, make your way to the orchard to spend an afternoon.
