Although the sea, sand, and sun down south on the islands is paradise, the Chao Phraya River has an island in the nearby province on Nonthaburi called Koh Kret which is home to a friendly and culturally rich community of Mon people.

The beautiful attractions on the man-made island of Koh Kret in Nonthaburi province are not the only things that visitors come here for. The island is the closest and probably the best place to have authentic Mon food.
