But wait! Today let me tell you a (no longer) secret that will make you forget all your boring days and made yourself there.

Pra-sae

The story of the name Pra-sae

            Pra-sae is from Shong language “Pree-share” it means “clear forest” and then it was changed to “Kra-sae” means (water) stream. at that moment, the government did not know the meaning of Pra-sae. So you can see many different way to write its name.

 

Where is Pra-sae?

            The ancient Pra-sae  community is on south east coast of amperKlaeng , Rayong. Where is plentiful nature resources that make local people a lot of opportunity such as rice farming, rice mill industry, fishery, saw mill industry, and ship building industry. In the formal time Pra-sae is important as a communication area strategic, sea port and the center of agriculture goods production such as shrimp paste and fish sauce.

Nowadays, Pra-sae may not important like before but that not decrease its fascination. The story of Pra-sae is still continuing and waiting for you to visit.

Travelling from Bangkok to Pra-sae

By car: take motorway number 7, Sukhumvit road. Pass amperKlaeng you can see a big sign that tell you to turn right to Pra-sae.

By public van: take the public van at Future Park rungsit or Victory monument. It will take 4 hours to Pra-sae. Then you can take tricycle or call your homestay to pick you up.

1st location: Pra-sae warship monument

            Which used to join Korean war five decades ago. Nearby the warship there has a lot of seafood restaurants, so you can enjoy the view while have a good meal.

2nd location: Lam-son beach

            Where you can take pictures , anyway it is not allow to swim.

3rd location: Prince of Chumphon shrine.

Prince of Chumphonis the father of Thai navy. The shrine was built in 1967.

Which is received great hallowedness from Thai people.

4thLocation :Thung Prong Thong (Prong Thong Field)

            Here, you can walk along the wood bridge for about 3 kilometers or take a boat rides which are 50 baht per person (for this price must be more than 4 people) but what interesting beside the bridge or while you are in boat are sightseeing a mangrove forest, taking a deep breath of fresh air also taking photo which are very beautiful with a bright shining sun.

5thLocation :Pra-Sae Walking Street ( It is located in Pra-Sae antique river village)

Opening hours: Friday- Sunday in the first week of every month 03.00 PM - 09.00 PM

            After your visit at Thung Prong Thong, you might be hungry. We recommend you to go to Pra-Sae Walking Street where is near your homestay At the walking street market, there are a lot of food, snacks and drinks you could enjoy with. One local snack is called “Ka-la” is made from sugar and coconut milk. It taste very sweet and one local drink is called “Pluchea herbal tea or Cha Bai  Klu” which you can drink hot or cold but the cold one, it will be refreshing you from a long day trip.

6thPra-Sae Morning Market

            Be a morning person! Try to get up early than any days. Grab the bike and go to Pra-Sae Sin Bridge after that go to the morning market. Don’t miss to go to this one because here you will see Pra-Sae’s way of life: villagers with fresh vegetables, seafood and food which they always eat for breakfast.

At the homestay, for breakfast they will serve you one bowl of seafood rice soup which is very yummy beside Pa Tong Ko(white sugar sponge cake)
